D. A.'S Best Spaghetti Sauce

  1. Brown ground beef and garlic in a large stockpot in a tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. When meat is almost cooked, add mushrooms and onions; continue browning until vegetables are slightly tender. Drain meat mixture.
  3. Add oregano, basil, thyme, bay leaves and tomatoes.
  4. Bring almost to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 2 to 3 hours.
  5. Add tomato paste, sugar and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Continue simmering for 1 more hour.
  7. Serve over your favorite pasta.
  8. Recipe makes approximately 1 gallon of sauce.
  9. Freezes in Ziploc bags well for another day.
