Applesauce Raisin Nut Bread

  1. Combine baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg; set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugars.
  3. Add eggs, sour cream and applesauce to butter and sugar mixture; mix well.
  4. Blend in flour mixture.
  5. (Mix only until dry ingredients are moistened.)
  6. Mix in raisins and chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour into greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  8. Decorate top of loaf with 6 walnut halves.
  9. Bake at 350u0b0 for about 1 hour or until wire cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
  10. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes.
  11. Turn out onto a rack and cool completely.
