Tom'S Green Chili Spoon Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 450u0b0.
  2. Generously butter loaf pan.
  3. Combine 2/3 cup milk with the eggs; beat well and set aside.
  4. In medium saucepan over low heat, combine remaining milk with the butter; bring just to a simmer.
  5. Increase heat slightly; add the cornmeal in a steady stream, stirring constantly.
  6. Stir in salt.
  7. Remove from heat; pour in egg mixture.
  8. Whisk until smooth.
  9. Add chilies; whisk to combine.
  10. Sprinkle baking powder over all; continue whisking to combine.
  11. Pour batter into dish; bake until puffy and golden, about 30 minutes.
  12. Serve immediately.
