Flying Saucers
- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 c. molasses
- 1/4 c. milk
- 4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
- 3 1/4 c. regular oats, uncooked
- 2/3 c. raisins
- Beat butter; gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
- Add egg, molasses and milk; mix well. Combine flour and next 4 ingredients; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
- Stir in oats and raisins.
- Shape dough into 2-inch balls.
- Place on lightly greased cookie sheets and flatten each ball with palm of hand.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 10 minutes.
- Cool 1 minute on cookie sheeets; remove to wire racks and cool completely. Yield:
- 3 1/2 dozen.
