German Crushed Banana Cake

  1. With an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg yolks, bananas and vanilla.
  3. In a cup, stir baking soda into sour milk until dissolved.
  4. Add to butter mixture.
  5. Stir or sift together flour and cinnamon; add to butter mixture.
  6. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.
  7. Stir nuts into batter, then fold in egg whites.
  8. Pour into 2 greased 9-inch round cake pans. Bake in a preheated 350u0b0 oven until done, 35 to 40 minutes.
  9. Cool in pans 5 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.
