French Onion Soup(Serves 6.)

  1. Cook onions in butter in Dutch oven over medium heat, stirring occasionally until onions are tender and begin to brown.
  2. Sprinkle with flour.
  3. Gradually stir in 1 can broth.
  4. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
  5. Stir in remaining broth, water, wine and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
  7. Simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes.
  8. Place 1 slice toast in each of 6 ovenproof soup bowls or casseroles.
  9. Pour soup over toast.
  10. Sprinkle with cheese.
  11. Set oven control to broil and/or 550u0b0.
  12. Broil soup with top 3 to 4 inches from heat until cheese is melted and light brown, 5 minutes.
