Maine Blueberry Buckle

  1. Cream together 1/4 cup butter and 1/2 cup sugar.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
  3. Sift together the salt and 1 cup flour.
  4. Add alternately with the milk to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
  5. Pour into a buttered 9-inch baking dish. Distribute the blueberries over the batter.
  6. Combine the remaining sugar, remaining flour and the spices.
  7. Cut in the remaining butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
  8. Sprinkle over the blueberries.
  9. Bake at 375u0b0 until a knife thrust in the center comes out clean, about 40 to 45 minutes.
  10. Serve warm, with whipped cream.
