Granny'S Fried Chicken

  1. Cut up fryers.
  2. Wash and drain well.
  3. Mix milk and 1 teaspoon salt in a large container and place the chicken in the mixture. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
  4. Place flour and seasoning into a large plastic bag.
  5. Shake to blend.
  6. When ready to cook, shake several pieces of chicken in the bag at a time.
  7. Heat oil until hot and place 4 to 5 pieces of chicken in the pan at a time.
  8. Cook on high for a short time to brown, then turn heat to medium.
  9. Cover pan and cook 5 to 7 minutes.
  10. Turn chicken over and cook 5 to 7 minutes on the other side, covered.
  11. Then turn heat up to complete browning other side.
  12. Remove and drain well on paper towels. Serves 6.
