Pumpkin Spice Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine pumpkin, sugar, water, vegetable oil, and eggs.
  3. Beat until well mixed.
  4. Measure the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, baking powder, nutmeg and ground cloves into a separate bowl.
  5. Stir, slowly and add the dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture.
  6. Beat until smooth.
  7. Grease and flour 2 9 x 5 inch loaf pans.
  8. Evenly divide the batter between the two pans.
  9. Bake for 60 - 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 - 15 minutes.
  10. Then remove from pans by inverting them onto a rack, and tapping the bottoms.
  11. Slice and serve plain, buttered, or with cream cheese.
