Braised Beef With Noodles
- 2 lb. chuck beef in 1 1/2-inch cubes
- 2/3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 c. cooking oil
- 1 large onion
- 2 c. V-8 juice
- dash of Worcestershire sauce
- 2/3 c. green peas
- salt and pepper to taste
- noodles
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/3 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- Roll meat in flour, salt, pepper and paprika.
- Brown in heated cooking oil, using only enough to prevent sticking in pan.
- May only need 1/2 amount listed.
- Put meat in roasting pan.
- Cut onion in eighths, add to meat.
- Add V-8 juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
- Cover.
- Bake at 350u0b0
- for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
- Add peas and cook 10 more minutes.
- Serve over cooked, buttered noodles.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- Serves 4.
