Chocolate And Cherry Ring Cake
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1/2 c. cooking oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- powdered sugar
- In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar, soda, cinnamon and salt.
- In another bowl, combine eggs, oil and vanilla.
- Add to flour mixture; mix well.
- Stir in cherry pie filling, chocolate pieces and nuts.
- Pour mixture into a greased and floured 10-inch fluted tube pan.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes.
- Remove from pan; sift powdered sugar on top of cake.
- Makes 12 to 14 servings.
