Japanese Lighter Tso'S Chicken
- 2 chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces
- 3 stalks celery, peeled and julienned
- 1 green bell pepper, julienned
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- Salad oil for saute
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups steamed rice* (optional)
- {Marinade}
- 2 tablespoons sake
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 garlic clove, grated
- {sauce}
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 1teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- In a medium bowl, add chicken and {marinade} ingredients. Marinade for at least 20 min. (you can marinade up to overnight.)
- Add corn starch, and stir lightly so that the chicken is coated evenly.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add salad oil. Brown chicken on both sides. Add celery and bell pepper, and saute together. Add {sauce} ingredients, Heat and stir until the sauce becomes thicker. Turn off the burner
