My Own Crab Soup

  1. Cut up bacon slices and simmer with onion in a large Dutch oven.
  2. When bacon is brown and onions golden, add boiling water and tomatoes, cut up.
  3. Boil for 5 minutes.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour or more.
  5. If necessary, skim top.
