One Hour No-Hands Bread
- 2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/2 c. wheat germ
- 1 c. hot water (from tap)
- 1/3 c. honey
- 1/3 c. vegetable oil
- 1/2 c. non-instant powdered milk
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. baker's dry yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- First,
- preheat flour and wheat germ in 350u0b0 oven for 10 minutes in small bowl of electric mixer (so flour won't cool when it's transferred to another bowl).
- Add liquid ingredients from blender to dry ingredients in bowl.
- Mix at lowest speed two minutes.
- You'll notice the change in the dough as the gluten develops.
- It gets stringy and may wind around the beaters. Scrape the dough from the beaters and bowl into a buttered pan, 9 x 4 x 3-inch.
- Place pan on back burner of electric range (where heat from oven is vented) to rise for 10 minutes.
- The pan of dough may be placed in a pan of warm water or in a warm place to rise.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 30 minutes or so.
