Baked Whitefish With Shrimp
- 4 whitefish fillets (1 1/2 lb.)
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 8 oz. small cooked shrimp
- 3/4 c. shredded Provolone and Mozzarella cheese
- chopped fresh basil or parsley
- lemon wedges for serving
- Rinse fish.
- Pat dry.
- With tweezers, pull out visible bones from ridge of fillets.
- Melt butter in shallow baking dish.
- Place fillets in pan.
- Sprinkle with lemon juice and salt.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 10 to 12 minutes until the fish flakes easily.
- Pour cream into a saucepan.
- Heat to boiling.
- Simmer until reduced to about 3/4 cup.
- Sprinkle shrimp over baked fish.
- Pour hot cream evenly over all.
- Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Broil 3 to 4 inches from heat until the cheese is melted.
- Sprinkle with chopped basil or parsley.
- Serve with lemon wedges.
