Kerry'S Favorite Cheese Bones

  1. In large bowl, pour hot water over oatmeal and margarine; let stand 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in powdered milk, grated cheese, salt and egg.
  3. Add cornmeal and wheat germ; mix well.
  4. Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well after each.
  5. Knead 3 or 4 minutes, adding more flour if necessary, to make a stiff dough.
  6. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into shapes.
  7. Place on greased sheet and bake at 300u0b0 for 1 hour.
  8. Turn off heat and leave in oven for 1 1/2 hours or longer.
