Out Of This World Rolls

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.
  2. Let stand 10 minutes. Combine dissolved yeast, eggs, 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup warm water, shortening, sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Beat until smooth about 2 minutes at medium speed, scraping sides of bowl often with wooden spoon.
  4. Stir in remaining flour to make a stiff dough.
  5. Cover.
  6. Let rise until double, about 1 hour.
  7. Punch down, refrigerate overnight.
  8. Three hours before baking, divide dough in half.
  9. Roll out each half into a rectangle.
  10. Spread with butter. Cut out shape as desired.
  11. Place in a greased baking pan.
  12. Cover and let rise 3 hours until double.
  13. Bake at 400u0b0 12 to 15 minutes.
