Goulash
- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 large bell pepper, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2-14 1/2 oz. cans tomato sauce
- 5 oz. jar mushrooms, drained
- 8 oz. can sliced water chestnuts, drained
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. Lawry's seasoning salt
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- Dash of onion flakes
- 1/8 tsp. red pepper
- 1/8 tsp. parsley flakes
- 1/8 tsp. celery powder
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder
- Dash of paprika
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 c. rice, egg noodles, or macaroni, cooked and drained
- In a large stir fry pan, brown beef in olive oil on high heat.
- Add spices except celery powder.
- Cook for 1 minute.
- Add 1 can tomato sauce, mushrooms, water chestnuts, celery powder, more black pepper and chili powder to taste and cook for 5 minutes on medium temperature.
- Add second can of tomato sauce and cook for 10 more minutes on low temperature.
- Simmer until ready to serve over rice or noodles.
- Serve 4 to 6 hearty appetites.
