Fruit Cake, Kentucky Bourbon

  1. Cream the butter and sugar; add eggs one at a time.
  2. Combine dry ingredients together.
  3. Mix fruit, marmalade and nuts in a large bowl.
  4. Add 1 cup of dry ingredients to egg and sugar mix, alternating with bourbon.
  5. Stir in fruit mix.
  6. Bake in greased and papered 10-inch pan at 250u0b0 for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  7. Cool.
  8. Wrap in cloth dampened with bourbon.
  9. Place in airtight container along with apple slices.
  10. Allow cake to ripen before cutting, about 1 month.
  11. Yields 8 pounds.
