Hot Beef Sandwiches
- 3 lb. chuck roast
- 4 Tbsp. butter or oleo
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 2 c. catsup
- 4 Tbsp. vinegar
- 4 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 dashes paprika
- 4 tsp. Tabasco (optional)
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne (optional)
- Cook roast until tender.
- Set aside and shred.
- Brown butter and onions.
- Add garlic, celery, mustard and water.
- Cook a few minutes.
- Then add remaining ingredients.
- Cook 20 minutes.
- Add shredded meat.
- Serve on hamburger buns.
