Meatballs Italiano
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. Progresso Italian-style bread crumbs
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. Progresso grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1/4 c. Progresso olive oil
- 2 (15 1/2 oz.) jars Progresso spaghetti sauce
- In large bowl combine beef, eggs, water, 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, onion, Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt and pepper.
- Measure out 1/4 cup of the mixture, form into a ball.
- Roll meatball in remaining bread crumbs to coat.
- Repeat with remaining meat mixture and bread crumbs.
- Make meatballs, then set aside.
- In a large skillet heat oil until hot.
- Add meatballs; brown on all sides about 15 minutes.
- Drain.
- In large saucepan or Dutch oven add spaghetti sauce; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, add the meatballs and simmer covered about 20 minutes.
- Stir about every 5 minutes to prevent sticking.
- Serve over spaghetti.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
