Aunt Dosha'S Dinner Rolls

  1. Mix shortening and sugar with salt.
  2. Scald milk; pour over sugar mixture.
  3. Let mixture cool.
  4. Mix yeast with approximately 1/4 cup warm water; pour over same mixture.
  5. Mix in the eggs.
  6. Add 2 cups of the flour; beat well.
  7. Add the rest of flour; knead the dough on a lightly floured surface.
  8. Put dough in a heavy crock-type bowl; let rise until double in bulk.
  9. Punch down; roll dough out.
  10. Cut with biscuit cutter.
  11. Melt 1 stick of butter; dip each piece of dough in the melted butter.
  12. Place on baking sheet; let rise again.
  13. Bake in a 350u0b0 oven until brown.
  14. Yields approximately 2 dozen rolls.
  15. When letting dough rise, cover with damp tea towel.
