Broccoli Cheese Strata(Prize Winning Recipe Of Lorraine Pauley)

  1. Trim crusts from bread; cut 12 "doughnuts" and holes from slices.
  2. Use bread scraps to line bottom of 13 x 9-inch greased casserole.
  3. Put cheese over bread.
  4. Add layer of broccoli, then layer of ham.
  5. Put "doughnuts" and holes on top.
  6. Combine eggs, milk, mustard, onion and salt and pour over casserole. Refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight.
  7. Bake, uncovered, in a slow oven at 325u0b0 for 55 minutes.
  8. If desired, sprinkle with shredded cheese 5 minutes before baking time ends.
