Stir-Fry Ala Jeane
- 2 Tbsp. peanut oil
- 2 to 3 cloves garlic, pressed
- 1 lb. chicken, beef, pork or shrimp (your choice)
- 1 c. broccoli flowerets
- 1 c. cauliflower, cut
- 1/4 lb. sliced mushrooms
- 1 c. red and green bell pepper, sliced
- 1/2 c. sliced white onion
- 1/2 c. pea pods
- 1 small can sliced water chestnuts
- 1 1/2 c. fresh bean sprouts
- 1 c. sliced carrots
- 1 Tbsp. fresh grated ginger
- 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 1 c. sliced celery
- 1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
- Put oil in wok and heat to high.
- Add garlic and your choice of meat.
- Stir-fry 3 to 4 minutes, then drain on paper towel.
- In remaining juice, stir-fry veggies by density until crisp.
- You don't want soggy veggies.
- Mix soy sauce with cornstarch and grated ginger.
- Add meat to veggies.
- Make hole in center of mixture.
- Add sauce and let set a minute on high, then stir all together.
- Serve with steamed rice.
