Darlene'S Lasagna
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 small onion
- 1 clove garlic or garlic powder
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. basil leaves
- 3 c. creamed cottage cheese
- 1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp. oregano leaves
- 8 oz. lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
- 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Cook and stir turkey, onion and garlic in large saucepan until meat is brown and onion tender.
- Add tomatoes and break up with fork.
- Stir in tomato sauce, 1 tablespoon parsley flakes, sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and basil.
- Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat, simmer, uncovered, 1 hour, or until mixture resembles spaghetti sauce.
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Mix cottage cheese and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, 1 tablespoon parsley flakes, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and oregano.
- Reserve 1/2 cup meat sauce for thin top layer.
