Alma'S Easy Baked Beans
- 1/2 lb. bacon, fried and crumbled
- 4 medium onions, chopped
- 1 or 2 garlic cloves
- 1 lb. smoked sausage or fresh Polish sausage
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 c. vinegar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. navy beans, drained
- 1 can butter beans, drained
- 1 can pork and beans, drained
- 1 can kidney beans, undrained
- 1 can lima beans, undrained
- Fry bacon, drain and crumble.
- Saute the onions in bacon fat. Brown the smoked sausage in bacon fat.
- Heat together mustard, salt, pepper, vinegar and brown sugar until sugar dissolves.
- Mix all the ingredients together and simmer in a large pot on top of the stove for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or simmer in crock-pot for several hours.
