The Ultimate Sugar Cookie
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. butter Crisco
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- Heat oven to 375u0b0.
- Combine sugar and Crisco in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well blended.
- Add eggs, syrup and vanilla.
- Beat well. Combine 3 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Add gradually to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix until well blended.
- Divide dough into quarters.
- If dough is too sticky, refrigerate 1 hour.
- Keep covered until ready to roll. Place a quarter roll of dough on floured paper.
- Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut out with floured cutter.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle with sugar or decors if desired. Bake at 375u0b0 for 5 to 9 minutes.
- Makes 3 to 4 dozen cookies.
