The Ultimate Sugar Cookie

  1. Heat oven to 375u0b0.
  2. Combine sugar and Crisco in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well blended.
  3. Add eggs, syrup and vanilla.
  4. Beat well. Combine 3 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  5. Add gradually to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix until well blended.
  6. Divide dough into quarters.
  7. If dough is too sticky, refrigerate 1 hour.
  8. Keep covered until ready to roll. Place a quarter roll of dough on floured paper.
  9. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
  10. Cut out with floured cutter.
  11. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
  12. Sprinkle with sugar or decors if desired. Bake at 375u0b0 for 5 to 9 minutes.
  13. Makes 3 to 4 dozen cookies.
