Creamy Apple Squares
- 1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. yellow pudding cake mix
- 1/2 c. soft butter
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 3 large red Delicious apples, sliced thin, peeled or unpeeled
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 egg
- Combine the cake mix and butter and mix until crumbly; reserve 2/3 cup for topping.
- Add brown sugar and cinnamon to the reserved topping.
- Mix well and set aside.
- Press remaining cake and butter mixture into bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Arrange apple slices over the base.
- Blend sour cream and egg together and spread evenly over the apples.
- Sprinkle the reserved topping mixture over all.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Serve warm and refrigerate leftovers.
- Makes 12 to 15 squares.
