Chicken And Artichokes
- 2 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) broiler-fryers, cooked, boned and cubed
- 1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen artichoke hearts or 2 (14 oz.) cans, drained
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 3 c. (12 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 3 c. chicken broth
- 1 tsp. savory
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- Place chicken and artichokes in greased 14 x 11 x 3-inch baking dish.
- Combine margarine, flour, cheese, nutmeg and broth in saucepan.
- Cook over low heat, stirring often, until cheese is melted and sauce is thickened.
- Pour sauce over chicken and artichokes.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs, savory and thyme on sauce and dot with margarine.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Yields 6 to 8 servings.
