New York Meatballs
- 1 1/2 lb. lean hamburger, cooked and browned in patties
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 1/2 green pepper, minced
- 1 (14 oz.) can whole tomatoes, minced
- 1/2 can tomato paste
- 1/4 tsp. lemon pepper
- 1/8 tsp. oregano
- 1/8 tsp. coriander seed, ground
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 can mushrooms, minced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. tomato ketchup
- 1 small can tomato juice
- 1/4 tsp. Italian spices
- 1/8 tsp. ground red pepper
- 1/8 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Saute onion, green pepper, mushrooms and tomatoes in skillet for 30 minutes.
- Then add all ingredients, along with hamburger patties to which you have added salt, pepper and garlic salt. Cook on very low heat 1 hour.
- I serve this with spaghetti and we have meatball sandwiches on French bread.
