Blueberry Steel Cut Oats
- Ingredients
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- 1 cup milk of choice - we use whole cow's milk
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons Bow Hill Organic Heirloom Blueberry Powder
- 2 tablespoons Bow Hill Organic Heirloom Dried Blueberries
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- cinnamon to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Optional Ingredients
- 1 pat butter
- splash of milk
- chopped almonds
- frozen blueberries
- Combine oats, milk, water, salt, blueberry powder, dried blueberries and cinnamon in a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
- Simmer uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes until desired thickness, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Divide equally between four bowls (or save for the week's breakfasts).
- Optional steps: add butter and slash of milk, if going that route. For extra nutrients, top with organic frozen blueberries, more dried blueberries, and organic almonds.
