Classic Meatloaf
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 Extra Large Egg
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 small onion diced finely
- 1 small carrot diced finely
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 links of sasuage (I use italian chicken)
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Saute onions, carrots, and garlic over medium heat until the vegetables of soft and translucent. Remember to add salt and pepper. (Should take about 5-7 minutes).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, and sausage (remove casing). Make sure to salt and pepper the meat. Add the rest of the ingredients, 1 extra large egg, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, and oatmeal.
- Once the vegetables are cooked, let them cool, and add to the meatloaf mix.
- Use hands to combine all ingredients. Make sure not to over work the meat. If using a loaf pan, make sure to butter or grease the pan. I use a large dish and just form the meat into a loaf shape.
- Into the 375 degrees oven for 45- 50 minutes.
