Chocolate Sheath Cake
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. margarine, softened
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1/4 c. baking cocoa
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Frosting
- Mix flour, sugar and cinnamon in bowl.
- Combine margarine, oil, baking cocoa and water in saucepan; mix well.
- Bring to a rapid boil, stirring constantly.
- Combine buttermilk, eggs and vanilla in large mixer bowl; beat well.
- Add cocoa mixture alternately with flour mixture, mixing well after each addition.
- Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
- Bake at 400u0b0 for 20 minutes.
- Cool in pan.
- Pour frosting over hot cake.
- May omit frosting if preferred.
- Yield:
- 15 servings.
