Chocolate Peppermint Cookie Twists

  1. Heat oven to 375u0b0.
  2. Mix margarine, shortening, powdered sugar, egg and vanilla.
  3. Stir in flour, cocoa and salt.
  4. Knead a level tablespoonful of dough with hands until right consistency for molding.
  5. Roll into pencil-like strip, about 9 inches long, on a lightly floured board.
  6. Twist into pretzel shape on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Repeat with remaining dough.
  8. Bake until set, about 9 minutes.
  9. Let stand 1 to 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet; cool.
  10. Dip tops of cookies into Chocolate Glaze (follows). Sprinkle with peppermint candy.
