Greek Casserole Dinner(Mousaka Kreas)
- 1 lb. ground chuck
- 2 tsp. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. sage
- 4 c. thinly sliced potatoes
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 (3 1/2 oz.) can French fried onions
- 1 pkg. spaghetti sauce mix
- 1 3/4 c. water
- In a frypan, brown meat slowly with the oil and sage.
- Cook potatoes in 1 cup boiling water, in a covered saucepan for 5 minutes.
- Drain.
- Toss with salt and pepper and half can of French fried onions.
- Prepare sauce mix using 1 3/4 cups water.
- Arrange layers of potatoes, meat and sauce in a 2-quart buttered casserole dish, ending with sauce.
- Cover dish and bake at 350u0b0 for 45 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Add remaining onions and bake 5 minutes longer.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
