Gin-Free Fitzgerald
- Gin-fused simple syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons juniper berries
- 1/8 teaspoon coriander seeds
- 1 black peppercorn
- 1 cardamom pod
- 1 piece orange peel (about 2 inches long)
- 1/2 bay leaf
- Gin-Free Fitzgerald
- 1 1/2 ounces Jasmine green tea (brew and cool)
- 3/4 ounce lemon juice
- 3/4 ounce gin-fused simple syrup
- dash bitters
- To prepare the gin-fused simple syrup, heat 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the ingredients for the simple syrup and bring to a boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let the flavors steep in the simple syrup for 30 minutes. Strain into a container -- this is your gin-infused simple syrup. (You can store it in the fridge for up to one month.)
- To assemble the mocktail: add green tea, lemon juice, simple syrup and bitters in a shaker with ice.
- Shake and strain into a glass garnished with lemon. Enjoy!
