Melanie'S Beef Stroganoff

  1. Saute mushrooms and onion in 1/2 of margarine; set aside.
  2. In same pan, brown meat in rest of margarine.
  3. Add to meat.
  4. Add tomato paste, mustard and salt.
  5. Cook, uncovered, until tender, about 45 minutes.
  6. Combine flour and water; add to meat and stir constantly to thicken.
  7. Reduce heat.
  8. Add mushrooms, onion and sour cream.
  9. Simmer gently for a short time.
  10. Do not boil.
  11. Serve over wide egg noodles.
  12. Serves 6.
