Flavorful Herb Bread

  1. Heat milk, fat, sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm.
  2. Sprinkle yeast over warm water in a large mixing bowl; stir until dissolved. Add milk mixture, egg, chives, parsley and oregano.
  3. Stir in 2 cups flour, beating until smooth.
  4. Add enough additional flour to make a stiff dough.
  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
  6. Place in a greased bowl, turning to grease dough completely.
  7. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk, about 1 to 1 1/4 hours.
