Turkey Strata
- 11 slices white bread
- 4 c. cooked turkey
- 1/2 lb. mushrooms
- 1/4 c. butter
- 8 oz. can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
- 1/2 c. mayonnaise
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can cream of celery soup
- 2 oz. can pimento
- 11 slices sharp cheese
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- Butter two 9 x 12-inch pans.
- Line with bread.
- Layer with chicken, mushrooms and chestnuts.
- Dot with mayonnaise.
- Combine soups and pour over top.
- Sprinkle 2 ounce can of pimento (optional).
- Put 11 slices of cheese on top.
- Mix together eggs, milk and salt.
- Pour over top.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- Bake 1 hour at 350u0b0.
- Can place buttered croutons on top before baking.
