Josephine'S Recipe For Out Of This World Pie

  1. Measure sugar and cornstarch into saucepan; mix well.
  2. Add pineapple with its juice; mix well so no lumps form.
  3. Stir in pie filling and food color.
  4. Use a wooden spoon; stir gently to avoid mashing the cherries.
  5. Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and is well thickened, about 5 to 8 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat; stir in dry gelatin.
  7. Let cool.
