Very Light Yeast Rolls

  1. Mix yeast and 1/2 cup warm (not hot) water.
  2. Set aside to dissolve about 5 minutes.
  3. Then mix the sugar, salt, powdered milk and 1 1/2 cups water.
  4. Heat at low on top of stove to dissolve sugar and salt, about 5 minutes.
  5. Allow to get warm boiling hot then add margarine to milk mixture.
  6. (Allow the margarine to melt in milk mixture.)
  7. In a large bowl add 4 cups flour, yeast and milk mixture; then add slightly beaten egg.
  8. Mix well, it will feel elastic.
  9. Then add remaining flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  10. Cover bowl and keep in warm area.
  11. Allow dough to double in size, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  12. Then knead dough on well floured area.
  13. Divide into 3 equal parts.
  14. Roll out about 1/2-inch thick and cut rolls with cutter or roll in a small ball and spray baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
  15. Cover and let rise until double in size; then, in a hot 400u0b0 oven, bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  16. Remove from oven and brush with butter immediately.
