Hamburger-Vegetable Casserole Deluxe

  1. Mix thawed hash browns with the oil, salt and pepper to taste. Spread in bottom and up sides of an 8 x 8-inch baking dish to make a shell.
  2. Bake in a 350u0b0 oven until lightly browned, about 20 minutes.
  3. Prepare meat while potatoes are baking.
  4. Brown hamburger with salt, pepper and chopped onion.
  5. Drain well.
  6. Add gravy mix plus water.
  7. Add package of frozen vegetables.
  8. Steam with meat until vegetables are tender.
  9. Add mushroom soup and 1/2 cup cheese.
  10. Also, add water chestnuts.
  11. Spoon over top of baked potato crust.
  12. Spread other 1/2 cup cheese over top.
  13. Place onion rings over top of all.
  14. Bake 20 to 35 minutes in a 350u0b0 oven. Recipe may be doubled.
  15. Use large 11 x 15-inch baking dish.
