Roman Holiday Bake
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage, cut in 1/2 inch slices
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1 can cheddar cheese soup
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 cup water
- 4 cups cooked wide noodles (6 oz.)
- 4 slices mild cheddar cheese (4 oz.)
- In skillet, brown beef and cook sausage, onion and oregano until done.
- Stir to separate meat.
- Pour off fat.
- Add soups and water and mix.
- Set aside.
- Cook noodles as directed and drain. In separate containers refrigerate meat mixture and noodles overnight.
- Combine meat mixture and noodles and pour in 2 qt. shallow baking dish (12 x 8 x 2) and cover.
- Place in cold oven. Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes.
- Stir.
- Top with cheese and bake until cheese melts.
