Midnight Lace Walnut Tart
- Orange Tart Shell (follows)
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 c. walnut halves and pieces
- 3/4 c. light corn syrup
- 3 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp. grated orange peel
- 2 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- Prepare Orange Tart Shell.
- In a large bowl using a wire whisk, lightly beat eggs and sugar.
- Stir in remaining ingredients except chocolate; mix well.
- Place tart shell in pan on a baking sheet.
- Pour egg mixture into shell; don't let filling spill over sides.
- Bake in lower third of preheated 350u0b0 oven for 30 minutes. Raise tart on baking sheet to center of oven.
- Continue baking 15 minutes or until filling just puffs and center feels firm.
- Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Unmold tart onto serving plate.
