Tuna Bake For Twelve
- 8 oz. medium noodles (6 c.)
- 8 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 3 c. milk
- 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans chicken gravy
- 2 (6 1/2 or 7 oz.) cans tuna, drained and broken into chunks
- 1/4 c. chopped canned pimiento
- 1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
- 2 oz. process American cheese, shredded (1/2 c.)
- Cook noodles according to package directions; drain.
- Add 2 tablespoons butter and 1/2 cup milk.
- In saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons butter.
- Blend in flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper.
- Add 3 cups milk.
- Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
- Stir in gravy, tuna, pimiento and noodles.
- Spread in a 13 1/2 x 8 3/4 x 1 3/4-inch baking dish.
- Bake, covered, at 350u0b0 for 25 minutes.
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter; toss with crumbs and cheese.
- Sprinkle on casserole.
- Bake until heated through, 10 minutes.
- Serves 12.
