Lasagna Shortcut Style
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (No. 2 1/2) can (3 1/2 c.) tomatoes
- 2 (8 oz.) cans (1 c.) seasoned tomato sauce
- 1 or 2 envelopes spaghetti sauce mix (Spatini)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz. lasagna
- 1 (6 or 8 oz.) pkg. thin sliced Mozzarella cheese
- 1 c. container cream-style cottage cheese
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- Brown meat slowly, spoon off excess fat.
- Add the four ingredients. Cover and simmer 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Salt to taste.
- Cook noodles in boiling salt water until tender. Drain and rinse in cold water.
- Place half the noodles in an 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish.
- Cover with 1/3 of the sauce, add 1/2 the Mozzarella, then 1/2 the cottage cheese. Repeat layers, ending with sauce.
- Top with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
