Cherry Devilicious Cake

  1. Cream Crisco and 1 cup sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add egg yolks 1 at a time, beating after each.
  3. Stir in vanilla.
  4. Sift together flour, cocoa, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with water; beat well after each addition.
  5. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form; gradually add 3/4 cup sugar; beat to stiff peaks.
  6. Fold into batter.
  7. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan at 350u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
  8. Cool.
  9. Cut into squares.
  10. Top each serving with dollop of Cream Cheese Topper and warm Cherry Sauce.
