Walnut Bread

  1. In saucepan, melt butter.
  2. Add water and buttermilk.
  3. Heat over low heat to boiling.
  4. In a large bowl, pour liquid over yeast to dissolve.
  5. Add salt, molasses and walnuts.
  6. Add flours, a little at a time, stirring to blend.
  7. On floured counter, knead dough until satiny and smooth.
  8. Let rise in warm place 30 minutes.
  9. Split in half.
  10. Shape into 2 loaves.
  11. Place in 2 loaf pans or on floured baking sheet.
  12. Brush with egg white and place walnut halves on top. Let rise, covered, for 40 minutes.
  13. Bake at 375u0b0 for 50 minutes or until golden brown.
