Pfeffernuss
- 3 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1/8 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- grated rind of 1 orange
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 2 eggs, beaten
- confectioners sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground anise seed
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light molasses
- Sift together dry ingredients.
- Stir in grated orange rind and chopped nuts.
- In a separate bowl cream butter and sugar.
- Beat in eggs and molasses.
- Stir egg mixture into first mixture to make a smooth dough.
- Roll into balls in size of walnuts.
- Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Roll in confectioners sugar upon taking from oven.
