Beef And Tomato In Soy Sauce

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons oil and stir-fry onion until fragrant.
  2. Add tomato; stir briefly.
  3. Add beef and carrot.
  4. Add wine, soy, ketchup, sugar, pepper and 1 cup water.
  5. Bring to boil.
  6. Reduce heat to low and cook 1 hour or until meat is tender and liquid is reduced to about 2/3 cup.
  7. Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water. Add to meat to thicken.
  8. Serve over cooked noodles.
  9. (Dried noodles are available in Asian markets and many supermarkets.
  10. To cook, add to boiling water; cook for 5 minutes.
  11. Drain.
  12. Add a little oil.)
